The Mission of the Foundation

The purpose of the Foundation, as set forth in the charter, is aligned to the aforementioned goals. The Foundation‘s aim is to promote science and research, education and pedagogy, international understanding, civil commitment as well as art and culture at Technische Universität München.

In particular, the purpose of the Foundation is implemented by financing research projects, providing institutional support, endowed professorships, guest lecturer programs, scholarships for highly talented students, information for the general public on the concerns and advances of science and research, events, prizes, networking and alumni work as well as social projects. It is of paramount importance to the Foundation to appeal to highly gifted individuals, especially women, to join TUM’s academic community. Family-friendly careers prospects for both male and female researchers are given priority.
